CryptoPunks creator Larva Labs signs up with major talent agency UTA

Larva Labs, the development team behind NFT projects like CryptoPunks, has signed on with United Talent Agency (UTA) for media representation, The Hollywood Reporter first reported

UTA is an international entertainment firm that includes the likes of Johnny Depp, Susan Sarandon and Wes Anderson among its Hollywood clients. In addition to actors and filmmakers, UTA also represents musicians, comedians and digital talent who are “shaping the world of content and changing the face of entertainment,” according to UTA’s website

Larva Labs signing up with UTA suggests its NFT projects CryptoPunks, Meebits and Autoglyphs could appear across other types of media, including film and television.

“We are excited to work with UTA for the benefit of the entire community connected to our projects,” Larva Labs co-founder Matt Hall told The Hollywood Reporter. “Not only for the exciting opportunities to bring them wider exposure, but to help protect their growth and value for the long term.”

Larva Labs is one of the major players in the NFT space by way of its project CryptoPunks, which is one of the largest by weekly trade volume, The Block data shows. Though competing with popular collections like Dapper Labs’ NBA Top Shot, CryptoPunks comprised nearly 44% of the weekly NFT trade volume for the week starting August 22: $387.4 million.
