Coinbase partner is shutting down its debit card in April

Shift Card, a debit card that allowed users to spend their cryptocurrencies directly from their Coinbase account, is shutting down and will cease to work on April 11. Shift Payments said that they "hope to relaunch the program and issue new cards in the near future." It remains unclear why the debit card is shutting down.  

Coinbase launched the Shift Card in 2015 by partnering with Shift Payments. The card was issued by Metropolitan Commercial Bank and supported both Visa and MasterCard payment networks.
