Yale's endowment enters the crypto fray

Yale's endowment invested in Paradigm, a fresh $400 million crypto fund founded by Coinbase co-founder Fred Ehrsam and former Sequoia partner Matt Huang. This investment follows Yale's decision to invest in Andreessen Horowitz's $300 million venture fund earlier this year as reported by CNBC

Earlier in October, Yale announced its endowment's impressive performance of 12.3% investment return (net of all fees) for the year ending June 30, 2018. Yale's endowment is among the most influential and successful with near $30 billion in assets under management and an annualized return of 11.8% over the last 20 years compared to an estimated 6.8% average return of college and university endowments. Yale, as a key player and trend setter in the university endowment space, is likely to see its peer endowments investing in similar funds in the future. (Source: Bloomberg)
