Brazil among the top countries targeted with crypto-jacking software

Iran's cybersecurity authority released a research report analyzing the number of recorded crypto-jacking incidents reported in 2017. According to the report, Brazil is the country with the most reported cases of crypto-jacking, with over 81,000. India came in second with 29,000, followed by Indonesia with over 23,000. Iran and South Africa finish the list with 11,000 and 9,000 reported cases, respectively.

Cryptojacking involves developers inserting malicious code developed by Coinhive, a cryptocurrency mining software which mines anonymous cryptocurrency Monero, into their websites.
