Convenience store chain Sheetz deploys bitcoin ATMs in 6 shops

American family-owned convenience store chain Sheetz has deployed bitcoin ATMs in five shops around the Pennsylvania state and one in North Carolina, according to a report from The Associated Press on Tuesday.

The news was later confirmed by Sheetz on Twitter, giving the locations of those stores on Google Maps. The move will allow customers to buy and sell bitcoin with U.S. dollars.

Sheetz has partnered with Texas-based bitcoin ATM operator Coinsource for the initiative. Customers will have to enroll with Coinsource to be able to make transactions from $5 to $5,000 per day from the machines.

Coinsource operates 200 bitcoin ATMs across the U.S., and received BitLicense from the New York State Department of Financial Services last November. The firm is now also looking to get into the remittance business.
