Leading crypto firms join forces in lobbying effort

Three of the leading crypto firms, Coinbase, Circle, and the Digital Currency Group, are banding together to create the Blockchain Association. The new entity will lobby in Washington to advocate for the industry on technology, financial regulation, et al. Politico reports they will be joined by Protocol Labs, of Filecoin fame. Kristin Smith, who worked with Senator Olympia Snows of Maine, is among those joining the association. She previously worked with Overstock to lobby on blockchain issues. "I've been spending a lot of time doing a lot of the basic education work in this space,” Smith told the Washington Post. “I'm excited to focus exclusively on these issues.
