Citibank, IBM partner with government-backed blockchain accelerator

Banking major Citi, tech giant IBM and French video game company Ubisoft have joined as corporate partners of the Singapore government-backed blockchain accelerator Tribe.

Tribe Accelerator announced the news Wednesday, saying that the three companies will help participating startups to market their products and scale their operations globally, beyond Singapore.

The accelerator is hosting the second edition of its four-month program, and includes startups from various industries. For instance, Binance-backed digital identity management firm Torus and SGInnovate-backed blockchain digital entitlements startup AID:Tech, are the participating start-ups, among others.

Tribe Accelerator was launched in Dec. 2018, and is backed by government agency Enterprise Singapore, which was set up to develop the startup ecosystem in the country. The first edition of the accelerator’s program included corporate partners such as BMW Group Asia, Intel and Nielsen, among others.
