Booking Holdings drop out of Facebook's Libra

Online travel company Booking Holdings becomes the latest company to drop out of Facebook's Libra project, according to a report by Bloomberg.

The departure of the firm means that seven of the 28 inaugural Libra Project members have now withdrawn from the Libra Association.

Earlier last week, two U.S. Senators, Sherrod Brown and Brian Schatz, had sent letters to Visa, Mastercard, and Stripe, asking them to reconsider their partnership with Libra. The House Financial Services Committee also announced last week that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg would testify before its committee on Oct. 23 over Libra.

Booking Holdings is the parent company of Booking.com, Priceline, and Kayak.com.
