Denmark's tax agency is targeting 2,700 bitcoin traders for tax payments

Skattestyrelsen, Denmark's tax agency, confirmed that it is identifying 2,700 Danish individuals that it says owes the government taxes on bitcoin gains. According to Skattestyrelsen, these Danish citizens bought and sold ~$8m worth of bitcoins via a Finnish exchange, but did not declare profits or losses on tax documents. "Right now we are identifying the individual citizens and keeping the new information up to those we already have. If something does not match, we will contact them and ask for more information," says tax director Karin Bergen.
