Dfinity delays launch of its "Internet Computer"

Dfinity, the blockchain-based cloud computing project, announced in a blog post that it is delaying the release of its flagship “Internet Computer” product and is currently “working on timelines” for a minimum viable product. According to Dfinity, it originally planned on releasing a “cut-down” version of the product, which was slated for release in Q1 of 2019. However, the company stated that supporting such a version would slow down its overall progress in launching a full product. Furthermore, Dfinity added that its new software development kit, planned for release by the end of Q1 2019, will reveal aspects of what its plans on doing.

Dfinity has raised a total of $190M from investors including Polychain Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, and Multicoin Capital.
