According to a report legal-analytics firm Lex Machina, there were 45 cryptocurrency-related lawsuits in the first two quarters of 2018. For all of 2017, the number of lawsuits involving bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, or blockchain was 15. Some major lawsuits involved high-profile firms such as Ripple Labs, Bitconnect, and R3. The crackdown comes at least in part due to new SEC chair Jay Clayton, whose agency is behind 1/3 of the suits. (Source: CCN)
