Protocol Labs launches Filecoin Archives with digital library Internet Archive

Crypto company Protocol Labs has partnered with digital database Internet Archive to launch Filecoin Archives, a community project that aims to preserve information and datasets.

According to the announcement, which comes nearly two weeks after Filecoin launched on mainnet, Filecoin Archives will "curate, disseminate and preserve important open access information" that faces a risk of being lost.

Users can contribute to the project in several ways: by suggesting information that can be stored, by uploading data to the Internet Archive directly, or by preserving the data as a Filecoin node and also earning FIL for sharing their storage space.

The Internet Archive team is calling for users to send in open access information or datasets they think should be preserved.
