Twitter has suspended accounts of several crypto influencers

Twitter has suspended the accounts of several influencers in the crypto space.

The social media profiles of at least seven influencers in the crypto industry became inaccessible as some Twitter users noticed the suspension around early Wednesday UTC time.

"Twitter suspends accounts which violate the Twitter Rules," the profile pages of these suspended accounts showed.

The affected influencer accounts included @woonomic, @100trillionUSD, @mmcrypto, @wsbchairman, @themooncarl, @TheCryptoDog, @KoroushAK.

So far, the accounts of Willy Woo (@woonomic) and PlanB (@100trillionUSD) have been restored. Others still remain suspended.

Twitter has not given any public explanation as to what led to the abrupt suspension and the restoration of some of the accounts.

But in a subsequent Tweet after the restoration of his account, Woo posted Twitter's response to him regarding the reasons.

"We have systems that find and remove multiple automated spam accounts in bulk, and yours was flagged as spam by mistake. Please note that it may take an hour or so for your follower and following numbers to return to normal," the social media told Woo.

The social media has not yet responded to The Block's request for comment and clarification on the matter.
