Uniswap Labs publicly launches wallet browser extension supporting 11 blockchains

Quick Take

  • Uniswap Labs’ wallet browser extension is now available to the public.
  • First unveiled in February, the Uniswap wallet browser extension amassed a waitlist of 793,391 users.
  • The wallet browser extension supports 11 blockchains, including Ethereum, Base, Blast and Arbitrum.

Uniswap Labs, the organization building out the decentralized exchange Uniswap, has publicly launched its wallet browser extension on Chrome.

Users can add the extension to their browser via Google's Chrome Web Store, after which they can set up a new Uniswap wallet or import an existing one. The extension works with the blockchain networks Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Blast, ZKsync, Zora Network, BNB Chain, Avalanche and Celo.

"The Uniswap Extension lives in your browser’s sidebar, staying with you no matter where you are on the web. No more pop-ups or easy-to-lose transaction windows. Swap, sign transactions, and send or receive crypto right from the sidebar," Uniswap Labs wrote in a release shared with The Block.

Uniswap Labs first unveiled the wallet browser extension in February of this year and it has amassed 793,391 users on its waitlist, a company representative said.

Uniswap remains one of the most popular decentralized exchanges with a total value locked of nearly $5.6 billion, according to the crypto data tracker DeFiLlama. The exchange's native token UNI traded at $8.062 as of 9:54 a.m ET (13:54 UTC) on July 16 after seeing a nearly 4% decrease in the past 24 hours, The Block Prices show.
