Malta: Blockchain Island

The video below, produced by Cointelegraph, provides a terrific look at Malta, aka "Blockchain Island." Companies and projects in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space continue to play "regulatory arbitrage", moving from country to country in search of safe harbor. Malta has taken a leading position in this migration due to its blockchain-friendly laws, from company registration to taxation.

This has led companies like Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world, to establish a large presence in Malta. Service providers, from lawyers to custody solutions to trading desks have sprouted up. In short, the entire economy of the small island is laser focused on supporting the growth of blockchain and cryptocurrency initiatives.
