Haun Ventures and Union Square Ventures co-led the round, with additional support from a16z Crypto Startup Accelerator (CSX) and Coinbase Ventures.
The fresh financing brings Neynar's total funding to $14.2 million. The firm is looking to onboard staff founding engineers based in North America, wrote Neynar founder Rishav "Rish" Mukherji on the social media platform X.
Neynar builds infrastructure for the web3 social platform Farcaster, allowing builders to get relevant data from Farcaster for their applications. In October 2023, the popular data platform Dune Analytics noted that Neynar's efforts allowed Farcaster data to become available as a Dune Dashboard.
"The recent growth of social protocols like Farcaster and Undefined has reminded us of the importance [of] a thriving developer ecosystem for social networks," wrote Haun Ventures partner Breck Stodghill on Warpcast, an X-like social platform supported by Farcaster. "We believe Neynar will be critical to rewriting this story."
