Avail, a blockchain project aiming to solve rollup fragmentation and improve scalability, will provide the Eigenlayer competitor Symbiotic with a data availability (DA) solution for developers.

Avail DA aims to offer developers in the Symbiotic ecosystem a more efficient platform for building blockchain applications. In turn, the introduction of Avail Fusion and its integration with Symbiotic’s restaking protocol will allow assets like ETH and ERC20 tokens to be restaked and utilized as an extra layer of security for applications and services within Avail’s ecosystem, while incentivizing developers and users with staking rewards.

"The introduction of Avail Fusion, combined with Symbiotic’s restaking model, allows for the restaking of ETH and other ERC20 tokens, directly enhancing the crypto-economic security of the Avail network,” said Anurag Arjun, co-founder of Avail, according to a press release.

“This partnership is a transformative collaboration that truly empowers developers to innovate on entirely new services not possible on blockchains yet," Arjun added.

Since Avail’s mainnet launch in July 2024, the company has secured over 100 partnerships with major web3 projects, including Lens and Ethereum Layer 2 solutions like Arbitrum and Polygon CDK, the company claims. Symbiotic’s restaking protocol has similarly shown continued growth since its launch in June, now boasting over $1.7 billion in Total Value Locked (TVL) according to DefiLlama.
