Voyager acquires crypto wallet Ethos

Crypto asset brokerage Voyager has announced the acquisition of crypto wallet and blockchain service provider Ethos. The companies have been working together since October when they started a strategic partnership and announced the planned integration of Ethos Universal Wallet into the Voyager retail and institutional businesses. With this integration, which is still to take place, Voyager aims to give its customers better control over their crypto assets, enabling self-custody of their tokens.

Founder and current CEO of Ethos Shingo Lavine will become Voyager’s Chief Blockchain Officer.

According to CoinDesk, the acquisition cost Voyager approximately $4 million, and it will be paid with its TSX Venture Exchange listed shares. The trade will provide Voyager with the access to Ethos’ products, such as the Ethos Universal Wallet, the Ethos Bedrock platform, as well as “certain blockchain technology and IP,” CoinDesk writes.
