Research: ICOs and exchanges dominate Ethereum's top smart contracts

SFOX, a cryptocurrency prime dealer, published an analysis of nearly 30 million transactions from Ethereum's ten largest smart contracts. According to SFOX, the ten contracts fall into four categories: (1) decentralized exchanges, (2) centralized exchanges, (3) ICOs, and (4) collectible tokens.

The ten largest smart contracts, by number of transactions, are as follows:

  1. EtherDelta (~10.3 million transactions)
  2. IDEX (~4.6 million transactions)
  3. EOS (~2.9 million transactions)
  4. CryptoKitties (~2.6 million transactions)
  5. Tron (~1.9 million transactions)
  6. Poloniex (~1.7 million transactions)
  7. Bittrex (~1.5 million transactions)
  8. Bittrex (~1.5 million transactions)
  9. Bitcoinereum (~1.5 million transactions)
  10. OmiseGO (~1.4 million transactions)
