Cryptocurrency derivatives exchange LedgerX has listed its “first ever” $100,000 bitcoin call option with expiry in December 2020, it tweeted today.

“Dozens and dozens" of users were interested in trading a contract like this, LedgerX CEO, Paul Chou, told Bloomberg, adding:

“I understand $100,000 is a large number, but a lot of us who’ve been in this space remember Bitcoin at $1, and then it hit $10 and $100 and $10,000. A $100,000 contract doesn’t even make us blink.”

Just last month, LedgerX received a designated contract market (DCM) license from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), meaning the company can offer its products to retail clients, not just institutional ones.
