Hacker steals $6.7 million worth of tokens from VeChain Foundation

VeChain Foundation, the nonprofit behind the construction of the VeChain public blockchain platform, has announced that their buyback address was compromised at 12:27 pm ET on Friday.

1.1 billion VET tokens, which amounts to approximately $6.7 million, were transferred to the address 0xD802A148f38aBa4759879c33E8d04deb00cFB92b.

The company believes that the hack was the result of human oversight on the part of its finance and auditing teams. They said it does not reflect any inherent flaw in its standard procedures or hardware wallet solutions.
