<p>Google has suspended MetaMask's Android client from its app store, <a href="https://twitter.com/metamask_io/status/1210299207820570624?s=21">according</a> to the firm. Through its Twitter account, MetaMask stated that its Android client was suspended "in the last week" with Google citing its <a href="https://t.co/rfP4EbOAqv">policy</a> of banning mobile mining apps from its app store. MetaMask, as an Ethereum application browser, however, does not offer mining activities.</p> <p>After its suspension, MetaMask filed for an appeal which was rejected by Google.</p> <p>"It's unclear whether the reviewer doesn't understand the policy, or whether they are enforcing an unwritten policy," MetaMask states. </p> <p>MetaMask has an <a href="https://www.theblockcrypto.com/daily/24839/metamask-releases-metrics-that-show-how-its-being-used">estimated</a> 264,000 monthly active users. In February, The Block reported that there were <a href="https://www.theblockcrypto.com/linked/11161/fake-metamask-app-hiding-clipper-malware-has-been-found-on-google-play">multiple</a> fake MetaMask apps hiding malware found on the Google Play store. These apps could have been used to retrieve a victim's crypto-related credentials.</p>
