Security firm: MyEtherWallet has recorded more hacking attempts than Fortune 500 banks

Segasec, a cybersecurity firm, responsible for defending cryptocurrency wallet provider MyEtherWallet (MEW) from hacks says the wallet is a favorite among cyber crooks. According to the firm, MEW receives an average of 30 to 40 cyber attacks a week, making the wallet a more popular target than leading banks. Segasec has taken down 313 active attacks and is currently monitoring over 2,700 potential threats. Kosala Hemachandra, the founder of the MEW platform, needed to enlist outside help for cybersecurity given the volume of hack attempts. (Source: CCN)
