<p>Financial Services Agency (FSA), Japan's financial regulator, will approve a cryptocurrency exchange license for Coincheck <a href="https://asia.nikkei.com/Spotlight/Bitcoin-evolution/Japan-s-Coincheck-to-be-licensed-by-end-of-year" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to Nikkei.</a> Coincheck was hacked in January and 532 million NEM worth roughly $500 million were stolen. In April, the founders <a href="https://www.reuters.com/article/us-crypto-currencies-coincheck-monex-gro/japans-monex-to-buy-coincheck-for-34-million-eyes-future-ipo-idUSKCN1HD0AE" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sold their ownership</a> to Monex for $33 million and in October, Coincheck reopened new user registrations. According to Nikkei, nearly 200 companies are currently waiting for licenses. </p>
