Blockstrain is coming to the U.S. to assure the quality of your CBD-infused water

Blockstrain, a blockchain startup that registers and tracks cannabis used in the production of CBD (cannabidiol) products, has signed a letter of intent with Los Angeles-based NXT Water LLC, Blockstrain announced in a press release. The Canadian startup is aiming to assure only high-quality CBD is used in the production of Akeso Functional Fitness Water with the use of blockchain technology. Blockchain allows the startup to track the product at every testing point from its harvest to purchase.

Thanks to the use of Blockstrain, NXT Water customers will be able to check what exactly is in their water by themselves.

“Customers simply use an internet-enabled device to scan the QR code on the side of the bottle, offering real-time access to a dashboard of ingredients, all verified using the Blockchain,” said Todd Waks, CEO of NXT Water. “Data will be secured and authenticated via certificates of analysis (COA) for both the hemp oil and purified water.”

The US recently legalised industrial hemp farming. However, for the time being, CBD and hemp-products remain strictly regulated by the FDA and are subject to state laws.
