McAfee Labs: Cryptocurrency mining malware cases continue to rise in Q2 2018

McAfee researchers analyzed cryptocurrency mining malware trends in their September 2018 threats report. According to the report, cryptocurrency mining malware increased 86% in Q2 2018, with 2.5 million malware "samples." Additionally, from Q4 2017 to Q1 2018 the number of cases grew from 400,000 to 2.9 million, a 629% growth rate. (Source: McAfee)
