JPMorgan’s Michael Albanese becomes CEO of a blockchain startup

JPMorgan executive Michael Albanese has joined blockchain startup Tradewind as its new CEO, the company announced in a press release. Tradewind has created blockchain-based solutions to facilitate trade and custody of precious metals. The Royal Canadian Mint, as well as some broker-dealers, have adopted Tradewind's products.

The new CEO has 20 years’ worth of experience in banking and securities markets. He has held the position of Global Head of Agency Collateral Management at JPMorgan. He was also Global Head of Securities Clearance and was responsible for providing “on-exchange securities clearance, settlement and custody globally.”
