Brave partners with Gemini to let users trade crypto from within its browser

Brave has partnered with crypto exchange Gemini to let its  users trade cryptocurrencies from within the privacy-focused browser itself.

Users will be able to buy, trade, earn, and store cryptocurrencies directly via Brave. The Gemini widget is currently available on Brave’s Nightly version, and is expected to go live in Brave’s general release “in the coming weeks,” said Gemini.

The news comes three months after similar partnerships were struck with Binance and Binance.US.  Brave’s native token, the Basic Attention Token (BAT), is listed on all three exchanges.

Brave appears to have increased its focus on crypto in recent months. Last week, it partnered with the Japanese crypto exchange BitFlyer to develop a crypto wallet for users.

Brave, led by former Mozilla executive Brendan Eich, boasts of having over 15.4 million monthly and over 5.3 million daily active users. The San Francisco-based browser maker raised $35 million in under 30 seconds via an initial coin offering of its BAT token in 2017.
