Black Lake Launches Harbor Verify to Bring Verifiable Credit to Onchain Markets

Browser-based tool lets investors and lenders cryptographically confirm that every loan in a tokenized pool belongs there and has passed eligibility rules, without seeing private borrower data

Wayzata, MN - August 6, 2026 - Black Lake Digital Markets, the institutional rails for mortgage capital markets, today announced the launch of Harbor Verify, a blockchain tool that allows investors, lenders, auditors, and rating agencies to verify tokenized real world assets (RWAs) meet all agreed eligibility criteria. This is completed on demand, from a browser, and without seeing private borrower data.

Tokenizing a credit portfolio does not, by itself, give capital providers enough evidence to assess the underlying assets. Before allocating capital, curators, lenders, and investors need evidence of the portfolio's committed composition and whether its assets satisfied the published eligibility rules. Today, those checks often depend on bilateral reports, restricted data rooms, and attestations from the parties assembling or reviewing the portfolio. Harbor Verify makes those defined claims independently testable against cryptographic proofs and onchain commitments, without giving the reviewer access to confidential underlying data.

Using Harbor Verify, a reviewer selects a pool and a loan, and directly runs two checks on their own machine via a downloadable package, an independent algorithm available from numerous public sites, or via the Harbor Verify platform itself. The first check confirms that the correct eligibility rules were used. Each pool publishes an eligibility rulebook, including requirements for FICO score, loan-to-value ratio, geography, and seasoning, with its hash anchored onchain. Harbor Verify hashes the published rulebook and compares it with the hash in the loan's proof and the hash onchain. Verification clears when all three match.

The second check confirms that the loan belongs in the pool. Every Black Lake pool is anchored onchain and represented by a permissioned marker. Harbor Verify reconstructs the pool's Merkle commitments to verify that the loan is included in the pool and that no loans have been added, removed, or substituted without detection. It then verifies a zero knowledge proof, which shows that the loan met the pool's eligibility requirements.

Black Lake is applying this model first to a $25 million portfolio of residential mortgage loans. Harbor Verify allows reviewers to check the loans represented in that portfolio and whether they satisfied its encoded eligibility rules, without receiving borrowers' nonpublic personal information (NPI). The entire process uses only hashes, yes or no results, and cryptographic proofs. Borrower names, credit scores, loan balances, addresses, and other private information are never disclosed to the reviewer. Verification without disclosure simplifies the process and removes the NDAs, data rooms, and redaction cycles that loan-level review has previously required.

If every check passes, Harbor Verify confirms that a specific loan is part of a specific pool, that it was evaluated against the published eligibility rules, and that it passed. If a check fails, the tool identifies the exact step and value that did not match. As the checks run against public onchain anchors, review is investor-driven and on-demand. With this, it can be repeated at any time, at no additional cost.

"There are lots of chain-based attestation frameworks out there, similar to traditional finance. But institutional buyers need a test they can run themselves rather than another party's assurance," said Al Qureshi, CEO and co-founder of Black Lake Digital Markets. "With Harbor Verify, trust bottoms out in code you can rebuild and a check you run on your own machine. That is what it takes to turn a token into an instrument an institution can actually underwrite."

As Harbor Verify checks assets against public onchain records, the technology can also be used to verify assets issued outside Black Lake. The company plans to make Harbor Verify available to other issuers seeking to bring independently verifiable assets to market under the Harbor Verify mark.

Black Lake's June 2026 work with Nuva Labs offers an early look at Harbor Verify in action. Nuva Labs, a leading blockchain development firm, is Black Lake's infrastructure partner across the asset lifecycle - tokenizing loans, securing their data onchain, and, going forward, supporting distribution to investors. That partnership began with the tokenization of more than 4,000 down payment assistance mortgage loans, valued at over $25 million, ledgered and registered on Provenance Blockchain. This pool is expected to be among the first verified using Harbor Verify, giving investors a concrete example of how the tool confirms eligibility and pool integrity before an asset moves toward distribution.

"Nuva Labs exists to give issuers the infrastructure to bring institutional-quality assets on-chain at scale, and Harbor Verify is proof of what that infrastructure enables," said Anthony Moro, CEO of Nuva Labs. "We built the rails; Harbor Verify shows what's possible when you can independently check what's running on them. Provenance is already the world's largest public blockchain for RWAs, and this rollout will help drive institutional use to the next level."

Harbor Verify uses multiple patent-pending methodologies. Harbor Verify is available at harbor-verify.com. Harbor, the access platform for Black Lake Digital Markets assets, is available at harbor.blacklakeservices.com.
