Citigroup setting up lab for traders and coders to exchange expertise

Citigroup is creating the Markets Acceleration Lab to help traders and coders share knowledge, Bloomberg writes. The company wants traders to boost their knowledge about machine learning and AI, and for technicians to learn more about equity markets; believing this can help the bank cut costs and increase earnings.
The company is looking for 12 people to participate in the lab this autumn.Â
âThe intersection of quantitative, technical and markets knowledge is critical,â said Deirdre Dunn, Citigroupâs regional head of markets for North America. âThis is something weâve been trying to foster in many different ways.â
The Lab could be tasked with balance sheet optimisation or creating visualisation tools.Â
