The World Economic Forum (WEF) has posted new guidelines regarding blockchain security. It advises enterprises establish a security leadership position and better education on core design principles, especially cryptography.

Most notable is its verdict that security has a leadership problem. It cites Brian Krebs' research showing only five out of the 100 largest companies by market value list a cybersecurity leader position.

The WEF also notes attackers often exploit existing developer errors and claims hackers more often exploit the technology leveraging a blockchain than a blockchain itself.
