Lara’s and Tiffany Trump’s X accounts now locked after apparent hack

Quick Take

  • The X accounts of Donald Trump’s daughter and daughter-in-law were compromised and quickly locked down by X, according to Eric Trump and World Liberty Financial.

Lara Trump’s and Tiffany Trump’s accounts on X appeared to have been compromised earlier today, posting about a token purportedly associated with World Liberty Financial. The posts have been taken down and their accounts are now locked down by X.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump’s crypto project World Liberty Financial warned on X and on the project's Telegram channel that the X accounts of Lara, Eric Trump’s wife, and Tiffany, Donald Trump’s daughter, have been compromised and the team is “working to fix this.”

In the X posts that appeared to have been posted by hackers and have since been taken down, the accounts promoted an address along with a token claiming to be part of World Liberty Financial.

“[Twitter] was amazing and has locked down LaraLeaTrump and TiffanyATrump accounts within minutes,” Eric Trump, who co-created World Liberty Financial, wrote in an X post.

“Lara’s and Tiffany Trump's X accounts have been hacked. Do not click on any links or purchase any tokens shared from their profiles,” World Liberty Financial said in its Telegram channel. “We're actively working to fix this, but please stay vigilant and avoid scams!”

The Block reached out to the Trump campaign for comment. The scale of the compromise and its impact are not immediately clear.

Former U.S. President Trump and his sons have been teasing the crypto project for weeks, with fresh details revealed earlier today in a CoinDesk report. The project will reportedly be built on decentralized finance platform Aave and the Ethereum blockchain and center around a "credit account system.”
