The Open Platform (TOP), a venture capital firm and venture builder on The Open Network (TON) blockchain, has launched TON Space, a self-custodial wallet.
The move marks the end of the beta development period and the subsequent gradual launch of the new self-custodial wallet platform. The announcement from TOP described TON Space as having achieved impressive growth during its development phase.
"The beta period saw more than 100 million Telegram users having used TON Space to create self-custodial wallets," the TOP announcement said. The development now allows user access to both custodial and non-custodial wallet options within a unified interface, allowing users to switch between account types. The updated platform also features improved navigation, aiming to create a smoother onboarding experience for new users.
"We aim to engage 30% of Telegram users in the TON ecosystem by 2028, and the launch of our self-custodial wallet is yet another milestone in our journey to achieve this goal," TOP CEO Andrew Rogozov said.
New features of the TON Space custodial wallet
TON Space will introduce new features, including a dApp catalog, decentralized exchange (DEX) integration, staking aggregation solutions and mechanisms for NFT and Jetton giveaways. These integrations aim to support TON blockchain developers and increase the discoverability of their applications.
