A Review of 2024 Airdrops

2024 saw numerous airdrops, most of which were L2 governance tokens. We will dive into the distribution and performance of these airdrops in this section, alongside other noteworthy airdrops. The main purpose of an airdrop is to distribute a token of appreciation for loyal users and to potentially provide a liquidity injection for the ecosystem the token is airdropped to. As such, it would be relevant to track the distribution and performance of these tokens following the airdrop.

Aside from the L2 governance tokens, there were several other notable airdrops, especially on the Solana ecosystem. For example, Jupiter Exchange, the leading DEX aggregator on Solana, also airdropped its governance token, JUP, in January 2024.
