EIP-3074 Ahead Of Ethereum’s Pectra Upgrade

ERC-4337, covered in an earlier research piece, is a standard that would enable account abstraction (AA), a framework that provides an alternative to current widespread crypto wallets called externally owned accounts (EOA) with contract accounts (CAs), wallets with their own programmable logic similar to that of a smart contract. 

The main driving motivation behind AA is to improve the user experience (UX) surrounding crypto wallets. However, implementing AA is difficult as it would require all current EOA users to manually switch over to a CA, which presents significant logistical issues.
