Layer by Layer: Cosmos IBC Ecosystem Continues its Evolution as Hub Introduces Replicated Security

The Cosmos ecosystem can be conceptualized as a cluster of sovereign Layer 1 (L1) blockchains with a shared communication standard, the Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol. In many ways, this structure is similar to the collection of decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols that exist in monolithic L1 ecosystems, given that most Cosmos chains are built with a single specific application in mind.
