A brief performance analysis of Bitcoin against its popular hard & code forks

In 2017, Bitcoin hard forks were a highly debated topic in the wider cryptocurrency community. At its peak, this resulted in the Bitcoin/Bitcoin Cash hard fork, which seemingly split the cryptocurrency community into two separate camps.

However, lately, hard forks have become much less of a debated topic. One possible reason for this can be found in the strong underperformance of previous hard forks compared against Bitcoin.
