The banishment of movie box office futures trading

I’ve previously written about the ban of onion futures. This week we will explore a lesser-known futures ban that was enacted far more recently: motion picture box office receipts.

The story leading up to the 2010 ban on box office receipts starts in 1999 with U.S. Patent 5950176 and an online game called Hollywood Stock Exchange.
