Current state of DeFi in 2021: Part 2

In the first part of this two-part series, we summarized the 2021 macro trend in decentralized finance (DeFi) and delved into the evolution of the most significant DeFi sectors. To recap, the net value locked in DeFi exceeded $100 billion with increasing activities in major sectors such as lending, decentralized exchanges, and especially derivatives. 

In this part 2 of the series, we look into the usage growth of different assets in DeFi, as well as some of the maturing DeFi sectors that have arisen throughout the year.
