Everyone's got stablecoins on the brain

It's been awhile since this column has talked through some of the bigger payments news of the week on-site — this is The Interchange after all — so a bit of story bumping on my end today.

Politico had an interesting article out this week that talked about how the fear of Libra and private-sponsored digital currencies is beginning to spur momentum within congress and across both sides of the aisle to push the Fed to build its own digital currency.
