MetaDAO: Futarchy-based Governance

Most existing decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) employ a token-based governance model where the voting power of a DAO member is proportional to the amount of governance tokens they hold. While token-centric voting is relatively Sybil-resistant, it often suffers from voter apathy and plutocracy.

Most holders of governance tokens have little interest or incentive to vote on proposals that are often too technical or inconsequential to the average holders. Their main motivation for holding the tokens is speculative purposes. Thus, many governance proposals are effectively decided by a small group of voters who may or may not share the same long-term interests with the protocols.
