Rocket Pool: Permissionless Liquid Staking

Ethereum’s Shanghai upgrade, currently expected in March 2023, which will enable staked ETH withdrawals. Coupled with the high barrier to entry to become an Ethereum validator, which requires staking 32 ETH and having a dedicated node, it has led to increased attention toward liquid staking derivatives (LSDs).

LSDs are assets that represent an underlying token that is being staked. For example, stETH and rETH are examples of LSDs for ETH and allow holders to earn staking rewards while being able to use them for DeFi applications.
