This post is Part 3 of a broader series on funding data into blockchain and crypto verticals, and is a follow up to last month's posts which mapped the most active crypto funds in 2019, and a separate piece that looked at high level deal value stats from 2018 and 2019.

Looking at funding trends across Seed, Series A/B, and Later Stage rounds, funding is down across the board on the year (total funding down ~50% Y/Y in 2019) as 2018 proved to be an outsized year in terms of capital formation into the space. Of note, however, every single series outside of late stage has seen noticeable growth from 2017 levels, with Series A total capital raised this year almost triple the amount seen in 2017.
