Venture Capital activity in 2023 continues to stall, with private investment amounts in the crypto/blockchain sector hitting lows not seen since Q4'20. The deal activity velocity has also decreased, but not as drastically, since most deals are happening at the Pre-Seed, Seed, or Series A level. It has been a continued case of crypto companies refusing to raise down rounds and crypto venture firms unable to find opportunities with attractive later-stage valuations. Overall, Q3'23 saw just over $2 billion invested among 414 deals. The in-depth recap of the quarter can be found here. The Block Pro Research utilized its proprietary data to analyze the investors that have partaken in crypto venture deals this quarter. The top 10 Most Active Investors (MAI) have collectively invested in 74 unique deals, which The Block Pro Research has mapped out.

This quarter featured most investments from crypto venture heavyweights, with venture arms of Binance and Coinbase leading the way. The list also included Polygon Studios, Robot Ventures (Robert Leshner's & Tarun Chitra's venture fund), HashKey Capital, SevenX Ventures (Singapore-based Crypto VC fund), OKX Blockdream Ventures, Animoca Brands, a16z and Big Brain Holdings.
