Funding in the Polkadot ecosystem

Recently, we mapped out the projects and companies that are currently developing on Polkadot’s ecosystem. While some of these initiatives are self-funded, most have received funding through the Web3 Foundation’s grant program, venture capital, and or directly from Polkadot’s treasury. 

Our research identified a total of 21 projects that have received outside capital from investors (Not grants or Polkadot’s treasury). Approximately $52 million in aggregate has been allocated to these projects, with an average deal size of roughly $2.7 million and a median deal size of $1.5 million.
