As one of the oldest startup incubators in the crypto ecosystem, BoostVC has made multiple investments in blockchain crypto startups since it was founded in 2012. Boost VC was started by Adam Draper, a fourth-generation venture capitalist investor, and Brayton Williams, his deeply connected co-founder of seven years.  The San Mateo, Calif.-based incubator offers housing, office space, investment in exchange for equity in the company it invests in.

In a 2014 interview, Draper stated that he felt “like an ambassador for the community, in a way. I’ve never been so public about supporting something as I have been with bitcoin, and I’m grateful to be able to help grow the industry.” Since then, Boost VC has made over 100 investments in crypto and blockchain companies. While some investments like Epiphyte and Honeybadgr have failed, others like Coinbase and Abra continue to thrive.
