Mapping out Tiger Global Portfolio

Tiger Global Management is a New York-based major hedge fund and venture capital investment firm that seeks to deploy its funds in the software, consumer, and financial technology sectors. Founded by Charles Coleman III, Tiger Global currently has $79B in assets under management. 2020 was especially successful for the firm, as its returns were the highest among top hedge funds in the country. However, Charles Coleman and his team are not ready to slow down as the firm’s overall deal activity through the first part of 2021 is ten times higher than during the same period in 2020.

Tiger Global has also increased its exposure to the crypto/blockchain sector in 2021. Before this year, its only major investment in the sector was leading Coinbase’s Series E back in 2018. Tiger has made eight additional investments through the first half of the year, primarily to financial infrastructure companies and exchanges. The investments have also been regionally dispersed in Hong Kong (Amber Group), India (Coinswitch Kuber), Mexico (Bitso), and the US.
