An updated analysis of cryptocurrency support on darknet markets

Bitcoin continues to be the dominant cryptocurrency for darknet markets but monero is catching up, according to an updated analysis by The Block Research.

Each year, The Block Research examines the adoption of cryptocurrencies in darknet markets. Darknet markets are incredibly unpredictable and volatile. To give an example, of the 49 markets that The Block Research analyzed last year, over 55% of them were either shut down by law enforcement, exit scammed with customer funds or voluntarily ceased operations.
