August'24 Blockchain Funding Recap

In August, the blockchain sector attracted approximately $878 million across 208 investment deals, reflecting a 33% decrease in venture funding compared to July. This drop aligns with the trend we highlighted in our July Blockchain Funding Recap: notable surges in investment followed by subsequent declines.

Earlier this year, we observed a cyclical pattern in blockchain funding, characterized by sharp increases followed by declines. For instance, funding rose by 76% from February to March and by 33% from April to May, only to experience declines of 34–38% thereafter. August’s decline figures, following a notable increase in June and July, reinforce this pattern of fluctuations.
