Launchpad is a primary offering platform from the team at Binance. To date, three projects – BitTorrent, Fetch.AI, and Celer – have held sales, dubbed Initial Exchange Offerings (IEO), through Launchpad, netting $17.2 million in non-dilutive capital. Each sale reportedly finished within a matter of seconds. While functionally futile – Fetch.AI is still in beta, Celer’s architecture is identical to the non-token bearing Connext Network, and BitTorrent seems to have worked well for years without a token – returns for these project tokens measured in USD average 329% since listing on secondary markets.

Hold on – this all sounds mighty familiar. Despite the new, imaginative acronym, on closer inspection it seems that IEOs are practically near-identical to the renowned, and largely disowned, Initial Coin Offering model. The sole difference is that this fundraising method has now been captured by a single entity [insert joke re: decentralization].
